On June 12th, following the Ningde Times Germany Thuringen Base Laboratory, the headquarters laboratory of Ningde Times Testing and Verification Center once again obtained the complete qualification certification for module testing and battery testing laboratories from Volkswagen Group (hereinafter referred to as "Volkswagen"), and a certification ceremony was held at the Ningde Times headquarters. Experts from the public, as well as the deputy director of CATL Testing and Verification Center, participated in the ceremony. Mr. Eduardo Bento, Director of Battery Testing and Quality at Volkswagen, also participated in the ceremony online. At present, CATL is the world's first battery manufacturer to obtain dual certification from Volkswagen for "battery cells+modules", and is the only company in Europe to have a Volkswagen certified laboratory organization.
One of the most valuable certifications in the world
Volkswagen has always been renowned worldwide for its strict quality and safety standards, and its laboratory qualification certification is one of the most valuable certifications in the world. Volkswagen started developing enterprise standards for power batteries as early as 2009. After more than a decade of development, its PV testing standards cover nearly 200 battery cell testing projects and more than 100 module testing projects, covering multi-dimensional verification of performance, machinery, safety, and environment. Some mechanical safety tests are 7 times more stringent than national standards or other international standards, and the passing standards for battery life tests are 2 times higher than national standards or other international standards. Based on strict quality control, safety requirements, performance specifications, environmental regulations, and recycling standards, Volkswagen has provided valuable opinions on battery research and testing. Even at the end of the product lifecycle (EOW/EOL), there are clear specifications for safety performance testing, further improving the competitiveness and reliability of battery products.
At the certification ceremony, Dr. Uwe Westerhoff, the chief auditor of Volkswagen Laboratory, fully affirmed the advanced technical equipment and management level of Ningde Times Testing and Verification Center. Dr. Su Yuzhuan, Deputy Director of Ningde Times Testing and Verification Center, also spoke up and stated that Ningde Times has been closely following the development of industry testing standards, continuously improving its supporting testing and management capabilities. It is not only necessary to meet existing testing standards, but also to layout in advance for future new standards, systems, and platform products, ensuring that products undergo strict quality verification before facing the market.
