As its first major hardware product, Reachy Mini highlights "disassemblable, programmable, and customizable" as its core selling points. The Wireless version features a built-in Raspberry Pi 5 microcomputer, enabling out-of-the-box operation; the Lite version requires external devices, targeting entry-level developers with a lower barrier to entry. Both versions adopt a fully open-source design, with hardware schematics and control code fully accessible, allowing developers to freely modify mechanical structures and functional logic.

Its core competitiveness lies in the deep integration of Hugging Face Hub resources - developers can directly access over 400,000 datasets on the platform to train models, enabling robots to perform complex functions such as image recognition and voice interaction. Built-in demo projects cover scenarios like robotic arm grasping and facial expression simulation, reducing the learning curve for developers.

Hugging Face CEO Clém Delangue emphasized that the Reachy Mini is not a traditional consumer-grade product but rather "a canvas for developers to experiment." Currently, the robotics field is dominated by closed systems, but the open-source model allows users to understand the underlying hardware logic, which is key to breaking technical monopolies. Industry insiders believe that the combination of a low-price strategy and massive AI resources may drive small robot development from professional laboratories into the hands of mass creators.
