On the occasion of the first year of 5G-A commercialization, as a global pioneer in 5G-A commercialization, Shanghai has deployed a large number of 5G-A base stations, exploring various aspects such as three carrier 10G user experience, low-cost redcap, popularization of 5G IoT, and sensory integration to empower mobile network perception. 5G-A has already begun to benefit every aspect of life, not only in terms of efficiency and convenience, but also in enriching life and bringing ultimate experiences, such as high-end business travel, live streaming influencers, quality living, gaming enthusiasts, in car family travel, street merchants, bulk file upload and download, direct streaming guarantee, 4k on-demand, XR/VR, cloud gaming, and so on.

In the application of vehicle networking, Shanghai Mobile, together with partners such as Shanghai Research Institute and Huawei, has taken the lead in opening the world's first 5G-A vehicle networking demonstration route in the Jinqiao Intelligent Connected Vehicle Demonstration Zone in Pudong, Shanghai. It has verified all elements of vehicle, road, network, cloud, and map, achieving a delay of less than 20ms for the entire road section, supporting vehicle road collaboration, autonomous driving remote control, and other typical applications of vehicle networking.

In low altitude scenarios, the low altitude project of the East China Drone Base establishes "2+2" land and cross sea routes. Apply the world's first 5G-A integrated sensing 128T commercial base station to low altitude routes.
In production work, 5G-A assists in the P-IoT European Metallurgical Service mortgage warehouse, and China Unicom has launched the 5G-A passive IoT pilot in the movable property mortgage scenario at Bazhan. PIoT tags are installed on the regulated steel coils, and 5G-A base stations are used to accurately shape the beams for power supply and information transmission. Shanghai Unicom has always adhered to the construction concept of 5G-A network first. As of February 2024, it has completed the deployment of the world's largest T+F multi carrier aggregation network in key areas such as Hongkou, Jing'an, and Yangpu. As of now, over 6200 communities have completed the opening of 5G-A networks in areas such as Nanjing West Road, Jing'an Temple, Yangpu Binjiang, Wujiaochang, and North Bund, successfully creating an advanced 5G-A network base for the future.
As the headquarters of Shanghai Unicom, the North Bund is a key support area for the 5G-A network. In order to better meet user experience, enhance network competitiveness, and evolve towards 5G-A, Shanghai Unicom has achieved comprehensive coverage of the Bund 5G-A network, from a single macro station form to a multi-layer network form, constructing a macro, pole, and multi frequency layered three-dimensional network, strengthening deep coverage, and ensuring the high traffic demand of the North Bund. 5G-A base stations can be seen on site.
Shanghai Unicom uses 240M broadband on the North Bund 5G-A network: 3.5G (100M+100M)+2.1G (40M); The current network has tested a downlink speed of 4.6Gbps and an uplink experience speed of over 1Gbps (mainly based on measured data); Using millimeter wave base stations, the peak downlink speed experience can reach 10Gbps (mainly based on measured data); 5G-A has the characteristics of higher speed, larger connections, and lower latency. There are 23 new and old subway lines in Shanghai, with a length of 1000 kilometers and the largest scale in the world. The online experience for consumers during peak subway commuting hours is a major challenge. Shanghai Mobile is constructing a 5G-A subway on Line 12 to enhance consumer network speed experience (peak downlink speed of 5Gbps and peak uplink speed of 500Mbps) and reduce lag. Line 12 has completed the construction of 5G-A for the entire line, providing uplink slicing for Shentong Metro and creating a 5G-A (2.6G+4.9G) subway public and private network. The future plan is to build a 5G-A network for the entire subway line.
In the field of logistics and warehousing, 5G-A also plays an indispensable role.

The low altitude project of the East China Drone Base aims to establish a "2+2" land-based and cross sea route. The world's first 5G-A integrated sensing 128T commercial base station will be applied to low altitude routes, achieving full coverage of low altitude 5G on sea routes through a 4.9G+700M dual frequency hybrid innovative network. After testing, the average uplink speed in a 300 meter airspace route exceeds 30Mbps, meeting the application requirements of unmanned aerial vehicle monitoring data transmission. At present, there are 2+2 routes, including 2 urban routes: Jinshan Customs Langxia&East China Unmanned Aerial Base, and 2 inter provincial routes: Jinshan Zhejiang Zhoushan Islands.
