Leaders of Shenzhen and the Nanshan District Bureau of Science and Innovation as well as the representatives of the two parties' scientific research teams observed as Advantech Group and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University signed and unveiled the Joint Innovation Laboratory of Industrial Artificial Intelligence Terminal Technology in Shenzhen on May 13, 2025.
According to the agreement, the two sides will rely on Advantech's practical experience in the field of industrial artificial intelligence and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's scientific research advantages, focusing on the industrial intelligent terminal technology "neck" difficult problem, to carry out industry-university-research collaborative research. Lin Shimei, Executive Vice President of Advantech, said that the cooperation will strengthen the linkage of science and technology innovation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and inject new momentum for the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the whole country. Li Liheng, Assistant Professor of Hong Kong Polytechnic, pointed out that the laboratory will take the Greater Bay Area as a starting point to build a benchmark for industry, academia and research, and help the "Digital China" strategy to realize.
By means of industrial artificial intelligence, this partnership signifies a new degree of cooperative innovation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong companies, offering Chinese answers for the global industrial intelligence development. Both sides showed the latest technological achievements in the fields of industrial control and intelligent manufacturing during the event and visited the Advantech Experience Centre.
