The OmniCore™ EyeMotion vision system eliminates the need for dedicated advanced cameras and enables robots to perceive their surroundings using any third-party camera or sensor, enabling real-time adaptation in complex scenarios. This system not only enables robots to "see" the world but also "understand" it, overcoming the hardware limitations of previous AI vision technologies.

In terms of operation and integration, the system features a simple web interface that supports drag-and-drop configuration of sensors and cameras, allowing both new and experienced users to quickly get started and complete image acquisition and recognition. Furthermore, it integrates deeply with ABB's offline programming and simulation software, RobotStudio®, and its software suite, reducing commissioning time by up to 90% compared to custom solutions, significantly improving deployment efficiency.

The system is applicable across a wide range of sectors, including automotive, electronics manufacturing, logistics, and food and beverage, meeting needs such as item sorting and quality inspection. When combined with ABB's online automatic path planning technology, this system can autonomously plan optimal collision-free paths for complex scenarios, avoiding obstacles and dynamic objects, reducing cycle times for tasks like pick-and-place by 50%.

ABB Robotics President Markus Mascon stated that this system represents a significant milestone for ABB's Autonomous Versatile Robot (AVR) technology. In the future, ABB's next-generation robots will integrate advanced vision and precision technologies, enabling autonomous planning and execution of diverse tasks powered by generative AI, pushing industrial automation to new heights.
