The V-type mixer is an efficient asymmetric mixer designed for blending powder and granular materials. It is commonly used in industries such as chemical processing, food production, pharmaceuticals, animal feed, ceramics, and metallurgy.

The mixer features a relatively simple and practical structure, enclosed operation, and convenient feeding and discharge. Depending on the process requirements, operators can load materials manually or use a vacuum feeding system. The V-shaped vessel is typically manufactured from stainless steel, providing a smooth and easy-to-clean contact surface that is suitable for applications with demanding hygiene requirements.

Working Principle of the V-Type Mixer

The V-type mixer mainly consists of a motor, reducer, coupling, transmission system, and V-shaped mixing vessel.

During operation, the motor generates rotational power and transfers it to the reducer through a belt transmission system. The reducer then delivers the required rotational speed and torque to the V-shaped vessel through the coupling.

As the V-shaped vessel rotates continuously, the materials inside move together with the vessel and repeatedly travel between the two connected sections. Under the combined effects of gravity and vessel rotation, the material moves through different directions and repeatedly undergoes lifting, tumbling, splitting, merging, and diffusion.

This continuous material exchange gradually distributes the different components throughout the vessel, allowing the mixer to achieve a relatively uniform blend. The V-shaped structure is particularly suitable for free-flowing dry powders and granules that do not require intensive shear mixing.

Structural and Operating Characteristics

The enclosed mixing structure helps reduce material exposure to the external environment during operation. The vessel can also be designed with smooth internal surfaces to reduce residue and simplify cleaning.

For pharmaceutical, food, and other applications with strict hygiene requirements, we can provide precision-machined components according to customer drawings and process specifications. Hansheng Automation supports the custom machining of shafts, couplings, sleeves, flanges, brackets, and other non-standard mechanical parts used in V-type mixers and related processing equipment.

The actual mixing performance depends on material properties, filling ratio, rotational speed, mixing time, and vessel configuration. Therefore, the operating parameters should be selected according to the specific material and production requirements rather than using a fixed setting for all applications.
