The raw water forms a strong thermal circulation inside the two columns, causing steam to be generated in the evaporator, or purification column. To remove any impure water droplets that may be entrained, the steam velocity and column height are adjusted to improve vapor-liquid separation.
The pressure of pure steam is kept stable by a pneumatic regulator that controls the opening of the industrial steam inlet valve, maintaining the pressure within a user-set range, typically 0–3 bar.
