The ore rotary screening machine separates mud and stone by combining drum rotation, gravity, and screen classification. The main working process is as follows.
1. Equipment Structure and Drive
The core components include a motor, reducer, drum, frame, sealing cover, inlet, and outlet. The motor drives the drum through the reducer and coupling, causing the drum to rotate around its axis. The drum is mounted on the frame at an inclination of 5° to 15°, which promotes material flow from the inlet toward the outlet.
2. Screening Process
Material enters the drum through the inlet. Due to the drum's inclination and rotation, it moves axially along the drum. The outer wall of the drum is covered with a specially designed screen, typically made of flat steel rings with a cross-section of 16 mm × 12 mm. The screen hole size can be customized according to grading requirements, generally handling materials from 2 mm to 80 mm and supporting 1 to 5 grades of classification. Fine particles smaller than the screen holes pass through the screen and are collected below, while oversized particles remain inside the drum and are discharged at the end. To prevent clogging, a plate-type cleaning mechanism moves relative to the screen and continuously removes trapped material. At the same time, the rolling and tumbling of material inside the rotating drum helps dislodge particles stuck in the screen holes. For specific separation requirements, Hansheng Automation provides custom-machined screens and plate-type cleaning mechanisms according to customer drawings.
3. Key Technical Advantages
The plate-type cleaning mechanism works with the screen to keep it unblocked, significantly improving screening efficiency. The screen's large cross-section and wear-resistant material extend its service life. A sealed dust cover encloses the screening mechanism, preventing dust emission and reducing external noise. Observation windows on both sides of the cover allow real-time monitoring, and quick access doors at the end and side facilitate regular maintenance without interrupting production. The equipment supports 1 to 5 grades of material classification, and the screen holes can be replaced to achieve different particle sizes. It is suitable for dry powder, granular materials, and wet granular materials.
4. Applications and Benefits
The equipment is widely used in metallurgy, building materials, chemical, grain, pharmaceutical, fertilizer, power, and mining industries. It removes soil, fine sand, and other impurities from raw materials and classifies particles by size. The layout is simple, the footprint is small, and the equipment offers high reliability with low initial investment and stable long-term operation.
5. Typical Workflow
After startup, the drum reaches the set speed and feeding begins. Fine particles pass through the screen, while coarse particles move to the discharge end. The plate-type cleaning mechanism continuously clears the screen holes. Screened products and oversized materials are collected separately. During shutdown, operators can check the running condition through observation windows and open the access doors to clean residual material or replace screens as needed.
