A vibratory bowl feeder paired with a cam indexer suits stations that need both automatic random feeding with orientation and high-precision intermittent indexing. The bowl sorts and orients parts, and the indexer positions them station to station.

Precision electronic component assembly

Connector assembly. Automatic assembly lines for pin headers, USB connectors, and low-voltage automotive connectors. The vibratory bowl arranges loose metal terminals and plastic housings into oriented single pieces. The cam indexer drives the assembly fixture in intermittent indexing, completing terminal insertion, housing press-fit, and solder joint inspection in sequence. Typical cycle rate is 40 to 90 cycles per minute.

Micro precision component assembly. Assembly of small gears for watch movements and magnetic steel for earphone drivers. The bowl orients the parts, and the cam indexer indexes the fixture to link multiple processes, avoiding positioning errors from manual work. For stations like these, we can machine carrier plates, fixture plates, and index dials to customer drawings, for single pieces or small batches.

Inline quality inspection

Appearance defect inspection. Vision inspection lines for phone camera lenses, miniature screws, and precision hardware. The bowl feeds parts one by one to the inspection station. The cam indexer rotates the carrier intermittently so parts pass through the imaging zone, defect judgment zone, and accept/reject sorting zone, achieving 100% inline inspection.

Performance parameter testing. Relay contact continuity testing and no-load speed testing for micro motors. After the bowl feeds parts, the cam indexer switches stations to automate loading, testing, and unloading, reducing positioning error from manual intervention.

FMCG packaging and material handling

Small-format product handling and packaging. Packaging lines for candy, capsules, and irregular cosmetic samples. The bowl arranges products in oriented order. The cam indexer indexes the packaging film or carrier intermittently to complete filling, sealing, and cutting, suited to high-mix low-volume packaging.

Automatic labeling. Flat labeling for e-cigarette pods and small electronic accessories. The bowl feeds products to the positioning table. The cam indexer indexes the product through positioning, glue application, labeling, and take-up. Label position accuracy can be held within ±0.1 mm.

Safety note

The motion and transmission parts of this combination carry a mechanical pinch risk. Keep the safety guard closed during operation. Daily adjustment of vibratory bowl amplitude, cam indexer clearance, and similar parameters must be done by qualified maintenance personnel. Do not touch moving parts while the machine is running.

Beyond the parts involved in these stations, our precision component machining capability also serves non-standard parts for medical devices, printing machinery, and food machinery, and we machine precision structural parts for yachts and RC race cars. Hansheng Automation machines single pieces or small batches to customer drawings, with material, tolerance, and surface finish specified by the drawing.
