A material diverter is an industrial distribution device that uses mechanical or pneumatic action to route a single material stream to multiple outlets according to a set rule.

Working principle

In a conveying system, the diverter receives material from one inlet. It then directs the material to different outlet channels based on preset rules or conditions. This splits the material flow.

Main types and features

Flap diverter: Simple structure. A movable flap changes the material direction. Suitable for granular materials.

Rotary diverter: Has an internal rotating part. High splitting efficiency and large handling capacity. Often used for powders and granules.

Pneumatic diverter: Uses compressed air to push material. It controls the splitting process accurately and causes little material damage.

Typical applications

Food industry: On production lines, it splits biscuits, candy, and other foods for packaging by different specifications.

Chemical industry: It splits plastic pellets, fertilizer, and other raw materials to meet different process requirements.

Logistics: Used in automated sorting systems to route parcels to the correct conveyor lines.

If diverter plates, rotary bodies, or pneumatic components wear out, Hansheng Automation can machine replacements from customer drawings in single pieces or small batches.
