Hardware enclosure machining equipment falls into four groups: material preparation, forming, surface treatment, and inspection and packaging. The sections below list equipment by stage.
1. Material preparation equipment
1.1 Sheet and profile cutting equipment
CNC shearing machine
Suits batch straight cutting of thin and medium-thick metal sheets. Accuracy can reach ±0.1 mm. It is common for sheet metal enclosure preparation.
Laser cutting machine
Cuts metal sheets with complex shapes. Fits stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other materials. Cutting accuracy is high, with no burrs. It suits small-batch custom work or complex enclosure structures.
Standard press and CNC turret punch press
Completes punching and blanking of sheets. A CNC turret punch press supports multi-station automatic die change. It suits batch enclosure machining with multiple operations.
Plasma cutting machine
Suits cutting metal sheets over 20 mm thick. Cost is lower than laser cutting, but cutting accuracy is lower.
1.2 Profile deep processing equipment
Pipe cutting machine
Used for fixed-length cutting of pipe-type hardware enclosures.
Pipe bender
Completes bending and forming of pipes. Fits irregular pipe enclosure machining.
Small milling machine
Used to machine grooves, flat surfaces, and other complex structures on enclosures.
We can machine mounting bases, fixtures, stamping dies, and bending dies for enclosures from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches. Hansheng Automation works to drawing dimensions and assembly clearances.
2. Forming equipment
2.1 Stamping and bending equipment
Hydraulic bending machine, including CNC bending machine
Uses bending dies to complete edge folding and forming of sheet metal enclosures. A CNC bending machine can preset bending angle and path. Batch consistency is good.
Standard press and high-speed press
With dedicated dies, they complete punching, riveting, flanging, and other operations on enclosures. High-speed presses suit high-volume production of small hardware enclosures.
2.2 Drawing and forming equipment
Single-action and double-action drawing machines
Used for deep-cavity hardware enclosure forming, such as battery shells and small appliance housings. They can perform one or multiple drawing passes.
2.3 Welding equipment
CO2 gas shielded welding
Suits carbon steel enclosure splicing. Efficiency is high and cost is low.
TIG welding
Suits stainless steel and aluminum alloy enclosure welding. Weld appearance is good.
Laser welding machine
Provides traceless precision welding. Suits high-end hardware enclosures with high appearance requirements.
Spot welding machine
Used for spot welding and fixing thin sheet enclosures. It is fast.
2.4 Drilling and tapping equipment
Bench drill and CNC drilling machine
Used to machine mounting holes in enclosures.
Automatic tapping machine
Completes accurate tapping of threaded holes in enclosures. Batch efficiency is high.
3. Surface treatment equipment
3.1 Pre-treatment equipment
Sandblasting equipment
Removes burrs, rust, and oxide layers from sheets and prepares them for later coating.
Angle grinder and polishing machine
Manual or semi-automatic local grinding and polishing to improve enclosure surface finish.
Acid pickling and phosphating tank
Removes rust and applies phosphating to metal enclosures to improve coating adhesion.
3.2 Finished product coating equipment
Electrostatic powder coating line
A common coating method for batch hardware enclosures. Coating is thick, adhesion is strong, and corrosion resistance is good.
Automatic paint line
Suits enclosures with fine appearance requirements. It can spray water-based and oil-based paints.
Electrophoretic coating equipment
Suits small precision hardware enclosures. Coating is uniform and corrosion protection is good.
Electroplating tank
Used for chrome plating, nickel plating, and other metal-finish surface treatment on stainless steel and carbon steel enclosures.
3.3 Marking equipment
Laser marking machine
Marks logos, parameters, and other identifiers on enclosure surfaces. No consumables and high accuracy.
Screen printing machine
Batch prints color logos or patterns.
4. Inspection and packaging equipment
4.1 Quality inspection equipment
Vernier caliper and micrometer
Quickly check enclosure dimensional accuracy.
Coordinate measuring machine
High-accuracy dimensional inspection for complex enclosure structures. Accuracy can reach ±0.005 mm.
Salt spray test chamber
Tests corrosion resistance of enclosure coatings.
Roughness tester
Checks enclosure surface finish.
4.2 Packaging equipment
Semi-automatic strapping machine
Straps and fixes finished enclosures.
Heat shrink packaging machine
Applies film to enclosures and shrinks it for dust and moisture protection.
Carton sealing machine
Seals finished cartons.
Safety notes
Presses, high-speed presses, and similar equipment must have photoelectric protection devices. Do not feed material in violation of operating rules.
Welding must be done in a well-ventilated area. Wear protective masks, work gloves, and other protective equipment to prevent smoke and arc damage.
Acid pickling, electroplating, powder coating, and other chemical processes must follow hazardous chemical management rules. Provide exhaust gas and wastewater treatment facilities to meet environmental requirements.
All equipment operators must receive professional training, hold the required certificates, and carry out regular equipment maintenance.
Our precision parts machining service is not limited to hardware enclosure machining. Hansheng Automation can machine custom parts from drawings for medical device parts, hydraulic equipment parts, textile machinery parts, and automotive tooling fixtures. We also cover yacht precision fittings, RC car structural parts, and food packaging machinery parts. Single pieces and small batches are both available, with attention to material, tolerance, surface finish, and assembly fit.
