AOI, short for Automated Optical Inspection, is an automated quality inspection device that uses optical principles. It mainly inspects printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other electronic components for assembly defects, soldering quality, and lead position deviation. The system includes light sources, CCD cameras, and image acquisition cards. It captures and processes images to produce high-definition digital images and detailed inspection reports. For non-standard structural parts used in AOI systems, such as camera mounting brackets, light source supports, and precision positioning fixtures, Hansheng Automation provides custom machining services based on customer drawings and specified tolerances.

Electronics manufacturers use AOI mainly for PCB quality control. It identifies assembly defects and soldering problems quickly and accurately, which improves production efficiency and inspection accuracy. Its advantages include high efficiency, reliability, and flexibility. The equipment cost is relatively high, and some defects that are difficult to detect remain a limitation.

AOI technology continues to develop toward greater intelligence and multi-functionality. Machine learning and artificial intelligence will further improve inspection accuracy and efficiency. AOI equipment will move beyond single-function operation and evolve into integrated inspection systems that analyze multiple dimensions of electronic components.

AOI equipment uses optical and image processing technology to inspect electronic devices. As the technology advances, AOI equipment will keep improving in precision, efficiency, and versatility.
