Uses of a milling cutter grinding machine
Applicable tool materials: A milling cutter grinding machine is powered by a brushless DC motor. It is used for regrinding tungsten carbide milling cutters and high-speed steel milling cutters. These two types are widely used in machining. Tungsten carbide milling cutters have high hardness and good wear resistance, and are often used for machining hard materials. High-speed steel milling cutters have good red hardness and toughness, and suit many machining scenarios. Regrinding old milling cutters restores cutting performance and extends tool life.
Ease of operation: Operation is simple. Put the collet set with the fixed milling cutter into the grinding opening, rotate and move it gently, and grinding is done in 1 minute. Compared with traditional tool grinders, it solves the problems of complex operation and long time. It improves work efficiency and reduces fatigue and errors from long operation.
Lower cost: With a milling cutter grinding machine, you no longer worry about high tool consumption. One old milling cutter can be ground dozens of times. Each time costs only 0.1 to 0.4 yuan to turn an old milling cutter into a new one. This greatly reduces tool cost. For companies, it effectively controls production cost and improves economic benefits.
We can machine custom collets, shaft parts, and other precision parts for milling cutter grinding machines from customer drawings, for single-piece or low-volume production.
Selection methods for milling cutter grinding machines
Select by grinding range:
WD-X12 model: grinding range 2 to 12 mm. It suits milling cutters with smaller diameters, between 2 mm and 12 mm. If a company mainly machines small parts and the milling cutter diameters mostly fall in this range, WD-X12 meets production needs.
WD-X20 model: grinding range 4 to 20 mm. It is more suitable for milling cutters with larger diameters, between 4 mm and 20 mm. For example, large machining work may use larger diameter milling cutters, so WD-X20 is a better choice.
Select by blade grinding angle: The WD-X12 model specifies a blade angle of 5 degrees, front rake angle of 20 degrees, and back rake angle of 25 degrees. If the machining process has specific requirements for milling cutter blade angles and they match the WD-X12 parameters, this model is suitable. The WD-X20 model does not specify blade grinding angles. If angle requirements are strict, you may need to consult the manufacturer for details.
Select by power supply parameters:
WD-X12 model: power supply 400W, 220±10% AC. Power is relatively low. It suits scenarios with low power supply requirements and smaller processing scale. If the workplace has limited power supply or the processing task is light, this model saves energy and cost.
WD-X20 model: power supply 600W, 220±10% AC. Power is higher and provides stronger drive. It suits heavier processing tasks and higher grinding efficiency requirements. For example, in batch production where many milling cutters need fast grinding, WD-X20 better meets the need.
Select by speed: The WD-X12 model has a speed of 6000 rpm. Higher speed makes grinding more efficient. It removes the worn layer on the milling cutter surface in a short time and restores cutting performance. If the process requires high grinding speed, this model improves production efficiency. The WD-X20 model does not specify speed. If speed is a key factor, ask the manufacturer for details before deciding.
Select by weight and dimensions:
WD-X12 model: weight 12 kg, dimensions 37 × 34 × 26 cm. It is relatively light and takes up little space. If workspace is limited or the grinder needs to be moved often, this model is more convenient.
WD-X20 model: weight 22 kg, dimensions 37 × 34 × 29 cm. It is heavier and takes up slightly more space. But its stability and grinding capacity may be stronger. It suits fixed locations with large amounts of grinding work.
Our custom precision component machining capability is not limited to milling cutter grinding machines. Beyond collets and shaft parts, we also machine yacht precision components, RC car structural parts, medical device parts, and non-standard parts for food machinery and printing machinery. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and production quantities to deliver single-piece or low-volume precision machining.
