A vertical mixer uses a screw mounted on a central shaft to lift material from the bottom of the barrel to the top. The barrel, screw, and drive system form the core of the machine. Hansheng Automation machines screw assemblies, shafts, and wear parts to customer drawings when original components need replacement or modification.

Main Structure

Drive and Motor Assembly

The motor pulley, motor, and belt pulley make up the drive section. A cycloidal pinwheel reducer is commonly used. It has a compact structure, runs smoothly, and requires little maintenance. The reducer turns the central shaft at a speed matched to the screw diameter and the material being mixed.

Barrel and Screw

The barrel holds the batch. The screw runs vertically through the center and rotates with the shaft. As it turns, the screw lifts material from the bottom to the top. Material then falls back down along the barrel wall, creating a continuous circulation loop. The barrel interior is often lined with polypropylene board or stainless steel plate. Both linings resist material buildup and wear, which keeps the batch from sticking to the wall and makes cleaning easier.

Discharge and Access Points

The discharge outlet sits at the bottom of the barrel for unloading. A cleaning outlet allows residual material to be removed between batches. The viewing window lets the operator check the mixing state without opening the machine. The feed inlet and material inlet are positioned for convenient loading. A circulating discharge port returns material to the mixing zone in some configurations.

Support and Control

A man ladder provides access for inspection and maintenance. The electrical box houses the controls. These parts are arranged so the operator can reach the discharge, cleaning, and inspection points without moving around the machine.

Applications

Plastics and Color Masterbatch

Vertical mixers handle plastic flakes, crushed material, plastic pellets, and blends of new and regrind material with color masterbatch. The mixing action distributes colorant evenly through the batch. Because the barrel lining resists sticking, color change between batches is easier to manage.

Raw Material Blending

The mixer is used mainly for blending raw materials. The polypropylene or stainless steel lining reduces material adhesion. The cycloidal pinwheel reducer gives the machine a compact footprint, simple operation, and consistent mixing. Discharge and conveying are straightforward.

Organic Fertilizer Lines

Vertical mixers are also used as part of organic fertilizer production lines. They blend the components before the material moves to the next stage of processing. We can machine replacement screws, liners, and discharge components to drawing for these and similar applications.

Practical Notes

Check screw flight wear and shaft alignment on a regular schedule. Inspect the barrel lining for cracks or separation from the wall. Keep the discharge outlet and cleaning port free of buildup. The belt tension and reducer oil level should be checked at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer. A worn screw or a misaligned shaft will reduce lifting efficiency and lengthen mixing time.

Our precision custom machining capability is not limited to vertical mixers. Hansheng Automation also produces parts for food processing equipment, tobacco packaging machinery, and filling machinery, along with precision components for yachts and RC cars. From single parts to small batch runs, we machine to customer drawings and deliver parts for assembly.
