Some of the processing materials and heat treatment instructions commonly used for small module gears

1. 2Cr13Ni2 stainless steel: Generally quenched, quenched and tempered heat treatment, the distortion after quenching is relatively small and the gloss of the tooth surface is appropriate for gear processing that needs anti-rust and anti-corrosion.

 

2. High-quality 15 and 20 carbon structural steel: Usually treated with carburizing, quenching and tempering heat, high-quality 15 and 20 carbon structural steel is utilized for gears with a circumferential speed less than 3m/s.

 

3. High-quality 40, 45 and 50 carbon structural steel: Usually normalizing or quenching and tempering heat treatment, high-quality 40, 45 and 50 carbon structural steel is used for gears and worms with great strength and high circumferential speed.

 

4. High-quality T8A and T10A carbon tool steel: Usually quenched and tempered, high-quality T8A and T10A carbon tool steel is utilized for tiny module gears and worms.

 

5. 15Cr, 20Cr alloy steel: Usually carburizing (nitrogen), quenching and tempering treatment is used to create gears and worms bearing impact and alternating loads from 15.15Cr, 20.0Cr alloy steel.

 

6. 38CrMoA1A alloy steel: Generally quenched and tempered, nitrided treatment; no need to grind teeth after heat treatment; utilized to build gears that need nitrided treatment. 38CrMoA1A alloy steel

 

7. 40Cr alloy steel: Usually quenched and tempered, nitriding, 40Cr alloy steel is used to make wear-resistant gears with great speed.

 

8. H62 brass: Made for general gear and turbines with anti-wear and anti-corrosion needs, H62 brass

 

9. Duralumin and ultra-duralumin: Made to produce gears needing low force and light weight, duralumin and ultra-duralumin

 

10. Cloth bakelite, capron, polymer reinforced nylon, 6 polycarbonate: produced gears needing low impact resistance, vibration resistance and noise but not wear resistance.

 

11. ZCuA19Mn2 cast iron and bronze: Made to produce secondary gears and worm gears for anti-wear and anti-corrosion, 11. ZCuA19Mn2 cast iron and bronze

 

12. ZCuSn10Pb1 tin bronze:Important gears and worm gear with strong anti-wear or anti-magnetism are produced from ZCuSn10Pb1 tin bronze.
