For single-side labeling machines, adjustment work mainly covers the infeed star wheel, outfeed star wheel, infeed screw, labeling station, press brush unit, and label magazine. These settings use the bottle pressing head and the bottle path as reference points.
Infeed star wheel, outfeed star wheel, and infeed screw
Use the bottle pressing head as the reference. First adjust the infeed star wheel. When the pressing head just contacts the bottle, set the infeed star wheel so the bottle sits in the middle of the star wheel pocket.
Then adjust the infeed screw with the infeed star wheel as the reference. When the bottle is centered in the infeed star wheel pocket, set the screw so its infeed side touches the bottle closely but does not move it out of position.
For the outfeed star wheel, adjust it when the pressing head has just lifted. Set the star wheel so the bottle sits in the middle of the outfeed star wheel pocket.
Label magazine adjustment
The label magazine center line, the labeling station center shaft, and the label plate center shaft should be aligned with the label paper tangent point. Set the label plate tangent to the label paper at zero distance, then move the label magazine 1 mm to 2 mm closer.
The gap between the label paper and the two side pressing strips in the magazine should be 0.8 mm to 1 mm. If the gap is too large, the label paper can shift in the magazine and cause skewed labels. If the gap is too small, label feeding will be poor.
For the label hooks, the upper, lower, left, and right hooks should lie in the same vertical plane and press evenly on the label paper. This allows smooth label picking.
For the label feed roller, when no label is present, the label pressing plate should reach the front end of the magazine. When labels are loaded, the labels near the label hook fingers must not be crushed.
Hansheng Automation can machine replacement label hooks, pressing plates, and star wheel pockets from customer drawings, with the same fit and clearance requirements.
Beyond labeling equipment, we machine precision parts from customer drawings for other industries. This includes tobacco packaging machinery, filling machinery, printing equipment, yacht fittings, RC car assemblies, and food machinery. Hansheng Automation handles one-off parts and small batches, with attention to fit, tolerance, and assembly.
