The outlet water temperature of a multi-effect distilled water machine mainly falls into two operating states: normal working state and hot standby state.

 

Normal Working State

According to JB/T 20030-2012, the outlet water temperature of a multi-effect distilled water machine during normal operation is set at ≥95°C. This temperature requirement is based on the process principle of multi-effect distillation and actual production needs. Multi-effect distillation produces distilled water through multiple stages of evaporation and condensation. In each effect, water is heated and evaporated, and the steam enters the next effect to condense, yielding relatively pure distilled water. A higher outlet temperature helps ensure distilled water quality and production efficiency. At this temperature, most impurities and microorganisms in the water can be effectively removed, allowing the distilled water to meet relevant quality standards. It is widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical, electronics, and other industries with strict requirements for high-purity water.

 

To maintain accurate temperature monitoring and stable high-temperature discharge, outlet pipe fittings, thermowell sockets, and sampling cooler connections often need to be adapted to specific equipment layouts. Hot Standby State

When the multi-effect distilled water machine is in hot standby state, the temperature is usually maintained between 80 and 90°C. Hot standby means the equipment does not need to produce large amounts of distilled water temporarily, but must maintain a certain temperature and operating condition so that it can quickly return to normal operation when needed. Maintaining this temperature range serves several purposes. On one hand, 80–90°C can inhibit microbial growth and reproduction to a certain extent, preventing microorganisms from multiplying inside the equipment during standby and affecting subsequent distilled water quality. On the other hand, this temperature range is relatively low compared with normal operation, reducing energy consumption and operating costs, and also extending equipment service life, because prolonged high-temperature operation may cause wear on equipment components.

 

During hot standby, insulation jacket connections, drain fittings, and temperature control valve interfaces must remain properly sealed and matched to avoid heat loss or unstable temperature control.
