A fully automatic hard capsule filling machine is designed for high-volume pharmaceutical production and can fill powders, granules, pellets, or small tablets into empty hard capsules. Based on the NJP series design, modern machines integrate multiple automated stations to complete capsule feeding, separation, filling, locking, discharge, and cleaning in a continuous production cycle. The production process is designed to meet applicable GMP requirements.

Main Operating Stations

1. Capsule Orientation and Feeding Station

Empty hard capsules are fed from the hopper and automatically aligned in the correct direction. The feeding mechanism ensures that capsules enter the subsequent processing stations in a consistent orientation.

2. Capsule Cap and Body Separation Station

The machine uses a combination of mechanical positioning and vacuum suction to separate the capsule cap from the capsule body. Accurate separation is essential for subsequent material filling.

3. Cap and Body Offset Station

After separation, the capsule cap and body are positioned separately and moved into the correct alignment for the filling operation. Stable positioning helps prevent capsule damage and improves filling accuracy.

4. Metering and Filling Station

The dosing system measures the required quantity of pharmaceutical material and transfers it into the capsule body. Depending on the machine configuration, the system can handle powders, granules, pellets, and small tablet forms.

5. Defective Capsule Rejection Station

Capsules with improper separation, positioning, filling, or other detected defects are removed from the production line. This helps prevent defective products from entering the next processing stage.

6. Capsule Closing Station

After filling, the capsule cap and body are accurately aligned and pressed together to complete capsule locking. Proper closure helps maintain the integrity of the finished capsule.

7. Finished Product Discharge Station

Completed capsules are automatically transferred out of the machine and delivered to the subsequent inspection, packaging, or processing stage.

8. Cleaning Station

The cleaning system removes residual powder and material from relevant machine surfaces and working areas. Regular cleaning helps maintain production hygiene, reduce cross-contamination risks, and support GMP-compliant manufacturing.

Integrated Automated Filling Process

The eight stations work together through a synchronized mechanical and control system. The machine can continuously complete capsule orientation, cap-body separation, positioning, metering, filling, defective-capsule rejection, locking, discharge, and cleaning with limited manual intervention.

For pharmaceutical machinery manufacturers, the accuracy and reliability of the mechanical components used in these stations are equally important. Hansheng Automation can manufacture custom precision components for hard capsule filling machines according to customer drawings or 3D models. We can produce shafts, bushings, cams, guide components, supports, rollers, connectors, and other non-standard parts according to specified dimensions, tolerances, materials, surface finishes, and assembly requirements.

With made-to-drawing machining and prototype or small-batch production capabilities, we help pharmaceutical equipment manufacturers develop and maintain precision components for automated capsule filling systems.
