When label feed speed is higher than conveyor speed, the label can be pulled at the discharge end and shift left. Match the speeds first, then check guides and tension.
Speed matching
Lower label feed speed until it matches conveyor setting 33. Run the machine and see if the left shift stops.
If it only improves partly, lower label feed speed another 1% to 2%. Keep the label slightly taut on the conveyor to reduce pull at the discharge end.
For a variable-speed motor model, adjust the speed knob on the label feed motor. For a servo model, calibrate the linear speed synchronization parameters between the label feed axis and conveyor axis.
Guides and tension
(1) Conveyor guide rails
Compare the gaps between the left and right guide rails and the conveyor. If the left gap is too large, the label shifts left. Set the left guide gap to match label width, usually 1.05 to 1.1 times label width.
Check the right guide rail for wear or offset. If it is too tight, it pushes the label to the left. Align the guide rails symmetrically with the conveyor centerline.
(2) Label discharge guide rollers
Turn the left and right guide rollers and check for sticking. A sticking left roller increases friction on the left side of the label and pulls it left. Clean or replace the sticking roller.
Adjust the height of the left and right guide rollers so the label lands smoothly at the conveyor center after discharge.
(3) Unwind tension
Check the left and right tension of the label unwind. If left tension is too low, the label shifts left. Adjust the left and right unwind brake tension together to keep both sides equal.
Safety
Make all adjustments with the machine stopped and power cut off. Avoid contact with rotating parts.
If guide rollers, guide rails, unwind shafts, guides, or similar parts need replacement to drawing, we can machine single pieces or small batches from customer drawings. Hansheng Automation supports materials such as stainless steel and aluminum alloy, with tolerances and surface treatment controlled by the drawing. We focus on precision machined parts, not complete machines.
Beyond label applicator parts, our drawing-based custom machining also covers personal care filling lines, pharmaceutical packaging equipment, food weigh labeling, tobacco packaging machinery, electronics manufacturing tooling, yacht hardware, and RC car structural parts. We machine single pieces and small batches to drawing for equipment builders and production lines. We focus on precision machined parts.
