In the modern packaging industry system, bag-making - filling - sealing machines (referred to as bag-making machines) occupy a core position. It uses flexible materials as packaging carriers and can efficiently complete a series of processes such as filling, venting (or inflating), sealing and cutting of powdery, granular, fluid and semi-fluid materials. It is widely used in multiple industries including food, chemical, pharmaceutical and daily necessities, and has become an important bridge connecting production and sales. With the innovation of packaging technology, the upgrading of packaging materials and the diversification of market demands, bagging machinery has been continuously iterated in terms of structural design, working principle and functional realization, forming a technical system with its own characteristics.

Bagging machine

The development of bagging machinery is closely related to the diversification of bagging forms. Packaging containers, as the "outerwear" of products, their shape design directly affects the storage, transportation and display effects of the products. Among the commonly used bag-type packaging containers at present, flat bags, with their advantages of simple structure and low cost, have become the ideal choice for powder, granular and viscous products. Their simple shape can adapt to various packaging scenarios and meet the needs of large-scale production.

Vertical bagging machines are named according to their working posture. They work vertically and are one of the most commonly used types of machines in industrial production. According to the different working rhythms, it is mainly divided into continuous working type and intermittent working type, each with its own advantages and applicable scenarios

Continuous working type: This is the "non-stop Kuaishou", working smoothly and efficiently in one go. Its working principle is quite intuitive: The packaging material (usually in rolls of film) is continuously pulled by the machine and gradually takes on the shape of a bag along the forming device. Then, it passes through the longitudinal sealing device (sealing the sides of the bag) and the transverse sealing device (sealing the upper and lower ends of the bag) in sequence. In the middle, the material filling is completed simultaneously, and finally, it is cut into individual packaging bags through the shearing device. The common pillow-shaped bag machine is a representative of this type of machine. Its longitudinal seams are overlapped and sealed together, and the bags made are like pillows, suitable for large-scale production of standardized products. There is also a three-sided sealed bag machine, which uses a U-shaped forming device. If the production requirements change, it can be replaced with an elephant trunk forming device to flexibly adapt to different bag types. The four-sided sealed pocket machine also falls into this category. Through a special forming and sealing structure, it achieves full sealing on all four sides, meeting high protection requirements.

Intermittent working type: This is a "flexible and adjustable master craftsman", working in a "stop-and-go" mode. It relies on cylinders to pull the packaging materials. Each time the machine stops, it completes one process of bag-making, loading and sealing, and then pulls the materials forward for a while to start the next cycle. Its greatest advantage is flexibility. The length of the bag can be automatically adjusted through the photoelectric detection system. For instance, if the bag is found to be too long or too short during production, the machine will automatically calibrate it without the need for manual adjustment. This not only saves materials but also ensures that the bag type is consistent for each batch of products. This model is suitable for small-batch and multi-specification production scenarios. For instance, when it comes to some customized bagged products and the bag length needs to be frequently changed, it is particularly convenient to use.

Horizontal bagging machines are models that "work horizontally". According to the different movement methods, they are mainly divided into two types: direct-moving type and rotary type, each playing an important role in different packaging scenarios

Direct-moving bagging machine: A steady move that takes one step at a time. Its core is to complete the packaging process through "linear movement". It has a relatively simple structure and is also convenient to maintain.

Standard type direct-moving intermittent horizontal bagging machine: Specifically designed for the production of flat bags with three-sided sealing. Its design is very ingenious. A separation plate is installed on the upper opening of the folded film, so that the machine can open the bag very smoothly and there will be no situation where the film sticks together and cannot be opened. Moreover, its horizontal sealing traction device is very practical. While sealing the horizontal interface of the bag, it can also pull the plastic film to the left by the distance of one bag, just preparing for the formation of the next bag. The entire process is smooth and stable.

Stand-up bag dedicated direct-moving horizontal intermittent bagging machine: This is a model tailor-made for liquid materials, specifically designed for the production of stand-up bags. It uses high-strength composite film material, which not only keeps the stand-up bag in a crisp shape but also firmly locks in liquids to prevent leakage. Whether it is for food like yogurt and juice or daily chemical products such as laundry detergent and hand sanitizer, it can ensure the sealing and stability of the packaging. Moreover, the stand-up bags made are convenient for consumers to use and have a particularly high market recognition.

Rotary bagging machine: "The fast hand of rotary operation", it enhances efficiency through the rotary movement of the process disc and is suitable for large-scale production.

Intermittent rotary bagging machine: It first cuts the rolled film to a fixed length, then seals the horizontal interface and cuts it to make empty bags one by one. After that, these empty bags will be sent to a process disc that can rotate intermittently. Each time the process disc rotates a position, it stops once. During the rest time, the key steps of opening the bags, loading materials and sealing are completed in sequence. The advantage of this model is that the process division is clear, and each step can be done very precisely. It is suitable for materials with high packaging precision requirements, such as medicines and health products.

Continuous rotary bagging machine: This is a more efficient "continuous fighter" that never stops throughout the entire process. It uses flat film. First, the film is folded into the shape of a bag through a triangulation machine. Then, the horizontal sealing, bottom sealing and cutting are completed to make a complete empty bag. Then, the materials are precisely loaded into the bags through the rotary metering device, and finally the top is sealed. The entire packaging process is carried out smoothly without any pause. This model is particularly suitable for large-scale and standardized packaging requirements, such as bagged instant noodle seasoning packets and mass-produced snacks, which can significantly enhance production efficiency and reduce the packaging cost per unit product.

Bag-making - filling - sealing machine (bag-filling machine) is a packaging machine that can load powder, granular, fluid or semi-fluid materials into flexible material bag-shaped containers and complete processes such as venting (or inflating), sealing and cutting. Its bag types include flat bags, vertical bags and other types suitable for different materials. The models are mainly divided into vertical and horizontal types. Among them, the vertical types include continuous types (such as pillow-type, three-sided sealed, and four-sided sealed bag machines) and intermittent types (cylinder traction, bag length can be automatically adjusted by photoelectric). The horizontal types are divided into straight-moving types (including ordinary models and stand-up bag-specific models) and rotary types (including intermittent and continuous types). Different types of models are adapted to diverse packaging requirements based on packaging processes, motion forms, and layouts.
