The sterilization principle of the downward-displacement pressure steam sterilizer relies on gravity displacement, allowing hot steam to move from top to bottom inside the sterilizer and expel cold air through the lower exhaust vent until it is fully replaced by saturated steam. The latent heat released by the steam then sterilizes the items. Common types include portable pressure steam sterilizers, vertical pressure steam sterilizers, horizontal pressure steam sterilizers, and rapid pressure steam sterilizers.

 

The sterilization principle of the pre-vacuum pressure steam sterilizer uses mechanical vacuum extraction to create negative pressure inside the sterilization chamber, allowing steam to penetrate rapidly into the items for sterilization. The steam pressure can reach 2.1 kg/cm² and the temperature can reach 132°C. After the sterilization time is reached, vacuum extraction rapidly dries the sterilized items. Depending on whether vacuum is drawn once or multiple times, they are divided into pre-vacuum and pulsating vacuum types. The latter removes air more thoroughly and provides more reliable results.
