Conveyor belt misalignment on a palletizer affects conveying and palletizing cycle time. Maintenance personnel can adjust the idler group first, then check the material drop point, and replace idlers or improve the loading chute when needed. If non-standard parts such as idler seats, stop blocks, or mandrels are worn or need modification for the site, we can custom machine them according to customer drawings. Hansheng Automation supports single-piece and small-batch delivery.
Adjust the idler group
When the conveyor belt misaligns, maintenance personnel can adjust the position of the idler group. The belt pushes the vertical conical roller, and the seat fork fixed on the conical roller deflects by an angle. Through a driving pin, the seat fork moves the cross pin against the side idler end face stop block. The side roller is braked. The conveyor belt slides against the side roller, and the idler frame rotates by an angle around the vertical axis. The belt moves back toward the center.
A new heavy-duty self-aligning idler frame group can also be used. Its structure is similar to conventional products, but the idlers are divided into several sections, and the vertical rollers on both sides are changed to conical rollers. A seat fork for fixing the conical roller, a stop block on the idler end face, and a cross pin under the conical roller are added to improve alignment correction.
Use new idlers
Existing idlers have a complex structure, a large number, heavy weight, and poor connection reliability between the bearing seat and the tube body. Maintenance personnel can use opposed spiral spring idlers. The idler consists of a bearing seat, an opposed spiral spring fixed on the bearing seat, a bearing, a hooked mandrel, a seal ring, a retaining ring, and other parts. This structure improves idler reliability and service life.
Improve the loading chute
Irregular material drop positions on the conveyor belt can cause misalignment. Maintenance personnel need to adjust the drop point of the central discharge hopper to correct misalignment caused by an incorrect drop point.
The material guide plates on both sides of the loading chute can be made swingable. Adjusting screw rods adjust the drop point position. When the conveyor belt runs normally, the vertical roller receives no pushing force from the belt. It returns under spring force, and the opposite side roller is automatically released.
Regular inspection and maintenance
Maintenance personnel regularly check conveyor belt wear, idler operation, and bearing lubrication. They handle potential problems in time to prevent belt misalignment.
Train operators
Operators should receive training to understand the causes and handling methods of conveyor belt misalignment. This improves their operating skills and emergency response capability.
Beyond palletizer idlers, stop blocks, and mandrels, our custom precision parts machining capability also covers ceramic machinery parts, building materials machinery parts, cement product machinery parts, yacht precision parts, and RC car precision parts. Hansheng Automation can also machine non-standard parts for tobacco packaging machinery, filling machinery, printing machinery, food machinery, and medical devices according to drawings, supporting drawing-based customization and small-batch delivery.
