When choosing a high-efficiency checkweigher, check four areas: core specification match, function fit, structural stability, and brand service reliability.
Core specifications
Range and accuracy. Choose a range with 15% to 20% headroom above the heaviest item to prevent sensor overload. Jewelry processing may need accuracy of 0.1 g or better, while agricultural packing can use a 10 g division. Check non-linearity as well. A good checkweigher keeps full-scale error within ±1 division.
Sensor technology. Strain gauge load cells fit general use and tolerate 150% to 200% overload. Electromagnetic force compensation load cells suit high-accuracy work and reduce temperature drift.
Unit conversion. Support for kg, lb, oz, and other international units helps. Some models allow custom conversion ratios for cross-border trade.
Functions and operation
Display. A high-contrast backlit LCD works in bright and dim areas. A dual-line display can show weight, unit price, and other data at the same time.
Data links. USB and RS232 ports connect to warehouse systems. Bluetooth lets operators send data to mobile devices and speed up sorting.
Smart functions. Automatic tare calculates net weight. Dynamic checkweighing matches line speed. A counting function uses single-piece weight to estimate total count, which suits parts packing.
Structure and environment
Materials and protection. Food and pharmaceutical lines usually need a stainless steel platform with IP65 water and dust protection. General settings can use powder-coated carbon steel to lower cost. Hansheng Automation can machine custom stainless steel platforms, reinforced steel frames, and mounting parts from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.
Platform design. A large platform handles full cartons. A reinforced steel structure supports heavy loads and extends service life.
Interference control. A filter circuit reduces electromagnetic interference. Vibration-damping feet reduce the effect of floor vibration in workshops. Vibration error should stay at or below 0.3 g.
Brand service and value
Certification. Choose brands with OIML or NTEP certification, such as Mettler Toledo or Sartorius. This supports legal metrology and accuracy.
After-sales service. Confirm the coverage of annual calibration. A calibration interval of 12 months or less is recommended. If budget is limited, a domestic brand can be considered when it meets basic needs. Within allowed error, value can improve by 30% to 50%.
Hansheng Automation also machines precision parts for other industries. We work from customer drawings for yacht hardware, RC car structural parts, tobacco packaging machinery parts, filling line components, pharmaceutical equipment parts, and food processing machinery parts. Our work covers single pieces and small batches, and we focus on precision machined parts.
