Effective Anti-Corrosion Coatings for Pharmaceutical Machinery Equipment

Pharmaceutical machinery often operates in environments involving chemical exposure, humidity, and cleaning agents, making surface protection essential for long-term reliability. Proper surface preparation and coating selection significantly extend equipment service life while maintaining hygiene and performance standards.

After fabrication is complete, sandblasting is recommended to create an optimal surface profile that promotes strong adhesion. A proven coating system consists of two coats of epoxy anti-corrosion primer followed by two coats of epoxy anti-corrosion topcoat. This multi-layer structure provides robust resistance against chemical attack and mechanical wear commonly encountered in pharmaceutical production settings.

Special attention should be given to weld seams. After applying the first coat of epoxy primer, epoxy putty is applied and leveled to achieve a smooth, continuous surface. Once dry, an additional primer coat is applied, followed by two coats of epoxy topcoat, with a minimum interval of four hours between coats to ensure proper curing and film integrity.

For specialized components used in packaging machinery that supports pharmaceutical lines, single-piece or small-batch precision machining can be performed directly from customer-supplied drawings. This approach allows exact matching of material grades, dimensional tolerances, and surface requirements before protective coatings are applied, ensuring both structural accuracy and long-term corrosion resistance under demanding operating conditions.
