Common liquid pharmaceutical filling processes mainly include the following:
Atmospheric pressure filling
Also called gravity filling, this method uses the liquid's own weight to fill the packaging container. It is suitable for liquids with good flowability that do not contain gas and are not highly volatile, such as mineral water, white liquor, soy sauce, and milk.
Negative pressure filling
The packaging container is first evacuated to form negative pressure, and then the liquid material is filled into the container. This method is suitable for gas-free liquids that are prone to oxidation when exposed to air, as well as toxic liquids, such as fruit juice, jam, syrup, oils, pesticides, and medicinal liquids.
Isobaric filling
Gas is first introduced into the packaging container so that the pressure inside the container equals the pressure in the liquid storage tank. Then the liquid material is filled from the storage tank into the container. This method is only suitable for gas-containing beverages such as beer, carbonated drinks, and champagne.
Pressure filling
External pressure is used to force the liquid material into the packaging container. The external pressure can be mechanical pressure, air pressure, or hydraulic pressure. Pressure filling is mainly suitable for viscous materials with poor flowability and can increase filling speed.
For non-standard components involved in the above filling processes, such as filling valves, sealing connectors, storage tank interfaces, and container positioning parts, Hansheng Automation provides custom machining based on customer drawings, supporting material selection and tolerance control to meet the filling requirements of different liquid pharmaceuticals.
