Causes and solutions for poor rotation of cam indexers

Reason for unsmooth rotation of cam indexing device:

1. In terms of transmission components, looseness of gears, pulleys, etc. This situation can lead to unstable operation and production shaking of the cam splitter. Don't worry about this situation, just adjust and fix the gears and pulleys, and keep the two synchronous wheels and gears on the same plane.

2. Excessive or insufficient tension of the belt or chain can cause unstable rotation of the input drive system of the cam indexing device. Cause analysis: Insufficient concentricity, varying distances between the two gears, and inadequate flatness. Solution: Adjust the position of the gears, including concentricity, distance, and alignment with the same plane. After adjustment, fix it firmly with screws.

3. The flatness of the output shaft's disk surface is insufficient or the I-position positioning correction is poor, resulting in bending, discoloration, and non concentricity of the disk surface. This requires the material and thickness of the disc to meet the requirements, and the starting position of the cam splitter to be aligned.

Solution:

1. The indexing cam installed in the input shaft is connected to the output turret, and the cam rollers embedded radially on the circumferential surface of the output turret make linear contact with the taper support ribs of the cam on their corresponding inclined surfaces.

When the input shaft rotates, the cam indexing roller rotates the output turret according to the given displacement curve, while rolling along the inclined plane of the rib. In the area where the rib and the cam end face are balanced, that is, within the static range, the roller connects to its shaft.

3. The taper support ribs of a cam indexing device usually come into contact with two or three cam rollers, so that the rotation of the input shaft can be evenly transmitted to the output shaft. If there is any unevenness between the cam surface of the taper support ribs and the cam rollers, it will damage the splitter. By adjusting the distance between the shafts, the phenomenon of unsmooth rotation can be eliminated. The preload can be adjusted to approach the elastic zone of the cam rollers and the cam.
