Insufficient strap feed on an automatic strapping machine usually comes from a few common points. Check the wear parts, the strap supply, the strap path, and the machine settings before replacing major components.

Causes

Worn parts. After long use, the lever tension spring may become too weak. The top rod may also be set wrong. If the top rod always presses on the lever, the force is too high.

Not enough strap in the bin. The strap bin may be low, or the pre-feed mechanism may be set wrong.

Strap lead problems. A split strap lead can run poorly in the strap path. If the pressure plate is too low, the lead has no guide and can wander.

Middle top knife movement. If the middle top knife is not fixed firmly, it can shift. This stops the "T" guide plate from resetting.

Wrong strap size. If the strap width or thickness does not match the machine requirement, feeding can also fail.

Solutions

Adjust roller pressure. A suitable change in roller pressure often improves feeding.

Adjust strap tension. Set the tightening force to the correct value to clear the feeding problem.

Raise the pressure plate. Raise it enough to let the strap lead run smoothly.

Fix the middle top knife. After adjustment or reassembly, make sure it is fixed firmly and cannot shift.

Check by hand. Feed the strap by hand. If manual feeding is smooth, check other parts of the machine to find the cause.

When a roller, tension spring, guide plate, or other wear part reaches its limit, Hansheng Automation can machine a replacement from customer drawings. Our drawing-based service also covers filling machinery, tobacco packaging machinery, yacht components, and RC car components, plus other non-standard parts for food, printing, and medical equipment. We handle single pieces and small batches.
