The use, maintenance, inspection and repair of cam indexer is the key to ensure its normal operation and prolong its service life.
First of all, it is necessary to clean up debris and undercuts around the transmission system at any time to prevent hindering the movement.
Secondly, it is necessary to regularly overhaul and input and output shaft connectors and transmission parts. Particular attention needs to be paid to the looseness of the couplings, pulleys, sprockets, gears and output transmission bodies, as well as the tension of the belts and sprockets and the meshing gap of the gears, etc., which must be ensured to be in a normal state. If the following conditions are found, operation should be stopped immediately:
1. abnormal vibration of the cam.
2. The cam makes an abnormal sound.
3. Reverse shock occurs in the stationary region of the cam.
4. the cam has no indexing output for the corresponding number of intervals or the indexing output is unstable at a certain position or there is no indexing output at all.
If any of the above conditions occur, remove the mechanism and open the rear cover of the mechanism to find out the cause.
- If the cam is damaged and can no longer be used, contact a replacement cam. If the cam is not damaged or is less damaged, it can still be continued to be used, but its axial position must not be adjusted privately.
- If the needle bearings in the index wheel are damaged, the output index shaft can be removed and the needle bearings replaced. There are two ways to do this:
- One way is to loosen the output sleeve and remove the output shaft, but do not loosen the gland at the rear end. This way the axial position will not change when reinstalled.
- The other way is to loosen the lock nut at the rear end of the output shaft and the output sleeve at the front end, take out the output shaft and sleeve together, and then when installing it back again, just tighten the lock nut to bring the output shaft back to its original position.
