Brief Description of the Tablet Compression Process of Rotary Tablet Presses

The tablet compression process of a rotary tablet press mainly consists of three continuous stages: filling, compression, and ejection. During filling, when the lower punch rotates beneath the feeder, it reaches its lowest position, allowing granules to fill the die cavity smoothly. The lower punch then rises slightly to the tablet weight adjuster position, where excess granules are scraped away by the scraper to ensure accurate tablet weight. In the compression stage, the upper and lower punches simultaneously move between the upper and lower pressure rollers; at this point, the distance between the two punches is minimal, uniformly compressing the material into tablets. During ejection, the upper punch lifts while the lower punch rises to align flush with the upper edge of the die cavity, and the tablet is pushed away by the scraper. This cycle repeats continuously, enabling efficient high-volume production.

The smooth execution of these precise sequential actions relies heavily on the high-precision coordination of key components such as punches, dies, pressure rollers, and scraping mechanisms. We can perform single-piece or small-batch precision machining of specialized parts for rotary tablet presses based on customer-provided design drawings, strictly controlling dimensional tolerances and surface treatment to help customers obtain stable and reliable non-standard components that ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the compression process.
