Advantages

1. Strong load capacity: It can usually withstand large loads and impact forces, and is suitable for large equipment and occasions where large torque needs to be transmitted.

2. High precision: The positioning accuracy can generally reach ±30 seconds, which can meet the needs in some occasions where the precision requirements are not extremely high, and it runs stably and has low noise.

3. Simple structure: Pure mechanical cam structure, composed of cams and groove wheels, etc., without complex electrical control parts, and high reliability.

4. Adapt to high-speed operation: It can achieve high-speed intermittent motion and perform well in some automated production lines that require fast indexing.

Disadvantages

1. Fixed segmentation angle: It can only achieve segmentation and pause at a fixed angle, and cannot flexibly adjust the angle according to different process requirements. It is not applicable in occasions where segmentation at any angle is required.

2. Large size and heavy weight: Generally speaking, the overall size and weight are large, which is not very friendly to the installation of equipment with limited space, and the installation method is relatively fixed and not flexible enough.

3. High cost: Due to its complex structure and high processing precision requirements, especially high-precision dividers, the manufacturing cost is high, resulting in a more expensive product price.

4. Poor flexibility: It is a purely mechanical device. When combined with modern electrical control, additional control components and interfaces are required, and its flexibility is not as good as that of a hollow rotating platform.
