IT Home reported on October 28 that at the second CATA Aviation Conference held on October 25, Chairman Wang Changshun disclosed that as of the end of September this year, the total number of registered drones in China reached 2.049 million, and the total number of operating enterprises exceeded 17,000.
Wang Changshun said that since the beginning of this year, China's air transport industry has shown a full recovery trend. In the first three quarters, China's domestic passenger traffic has recovered to 114.4% of the same period in 2019, and international passenger traffic has recovered to 92.8%. It is estimated that in 2024, the passenger and freight volumes are expected to exceed 720 million passengers and 8.5 million tons, respectively, hitting a record high.
At the same time, it said that at present, China's aviation industry manufacturing shortcomings are speeding up, and the domestic civil aircraft industry has entered a new stage of large-scale, serialization and industrialization development, especially the new aircraft represented by electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) and remotely piloted aircraft (RPAS) to accelerate mass production.

IT Home learned that China has been the world's largest exporter of civil drones for many years, and the number of patent applications in the field of drones accounts for more than 70% of the world, becoming the world's largest source of drone technology.
