Hansheng Automation has outstanding machining ability for special-shaped parts. Recently, a batch of goods are shipped to Germany which are machined by WEDM. WEDM has many advantages such as processing ability of high-precision and complex shapes, material adaptability and high surface quality, so WEDM plays an irreplaceable role in precision special-shaped parts, especially in the field of high-end manufacturing.
Ultra-high precision processing ability
WEDM can achieve machining accuracy of micrometer level or even sub-micrometer level. The precision of the top-grade equipment can reach ±0.001mm. WEDM can precisely machine the fine structures, narrow slits, small fillets, etc. of parts which are complex and irregular. WEDM can meet the high-precision requirements of parts in fields such as aerospace, medical devices, and precision molds, which have special shape and size.
Processing ability of Special-Shaped Parts
3D special-shaped cutting can be supported by WEDM, including taper cutting (±30° and above), processing of up-down abnormity part, etc. WEDM can easily handle irregular structures such as turbine blades, helical channels, and complex curved surfaces, which are difficult to achieve with traditional processing methods. This can offer greater freedom to design.
Adaptability to difficult-to-machine materials
WEDM has excellent processing ability for materials of high hardness and high toughness (such as titanium alloys, cemented carbides, quenched steel, polycrystalline diamond, etc.). Through non-contact electrical discharge machining of WEDM, mechanical stress deformation can be avoided, and the stability of shape and dimension can be ensured during the processing of parts.
Outstanding surface quality
Through multiple cutting techniques (such as 1 cut + 4 dressings,1cut + 8 dressings), the surface roughness can reach to as low as Ra0.05μm, which is near to mirror-like effect. This will reduce subsequent processes such as polishing, grinding and improve surface finish and corrosion resistance. So WEDM is suitable for application scenarios with extremely high requirements of surface quality.
No tool wear issues
WEDM is different from traditional cutting processing, which use electrode wire as a tool. Therefore, there is no issues of tool wear and machining accuracy is not affected by the service life of tool. This can ensure long-term stable processing and reduce production costs.
Flexibility and Automation
Modern WEDM equipment has automation functions, such as automatic threading, adaptive pulse power supply, waste management, etc. It can be integrated into the automated production line and achieve unattended machining, improving production efficiency and consistency.
