Shipping day is always a proud moment at Hansheng
This week, We delivered custom structural components being loaded for our overseas client in the tobacco industry, we didn't just see metal parts leaving our factory. We saw the result of weeks of rigorous engineering, precise casting, and Precision Machining.
Tobacco packaging machinery represents one of the most demanding sectors in automation. These machines operate at breakneck speeds-often processing thousands of packs per minute. At that velocity, vibration is the biggest problem.
The Problem & Solution
Our client came to us with a challenge. They didn't just need a supplier who could pour metal; they needed a partner who could guarantee geometric integrity on a large scale.
Leveraging our Casting capabilities, we utilized Lost Foam and Sand Casting techniques to create the foundational geometries. We know that internal stress can kill precision, so our process control is strict. We can handle castings up to 3800×1500×1200mm, but for this project, the challenge wasn't size-it was the tolerance.
The client specified a tolerance of ±0.03mm on the raw casting features-a standard many foundries struggle to meet. We hit it.
But the real magic happened in our CNC workshop. Using our Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centers, we refined these structures to meet the demands of high-speed assembly.
Why go this far? Because in high-speed tobacco machinery, even a micron of misalignment creates friction, heat, and eventual failure.
The Equipment
This project is what our best equipment excels at handling. The Seibu Wire EDM (M50B) handled the intricate cuts, while our Brother TC-S2A ensured rapid, precise turning. And, of course, nothing leaves our floor without passing through our Gear Inspection Machines and CMM testing.
