In densely populated public places, how to achieve accurate monitoring and efficient purification of pathogenic microorganisms has always been an urgent problem to be solved in public health management. After four years of research, the innovation and entrepreneurship team of environmental microbial monitoring and purification of Shandong Normal University has successfully developed the "Weiwei'an - Intelligent Monitoring and Purification Robot for Air Pathogenic Microorganisms", which solves the pain points of traditional health management with innovative technology and provides a new and intelligent solution for public health safety. The achievement has been appraised by the expert group of Shandong Environmental Science Society and has been recognized as "generally reaching the international advanced level".

Technological breakthrough: a revolutionary leap from 24 hours to 10 minutes

Traditional airborne microbial detection relies on solid medium culture and manual counting, which has bottlenecks such as long time (24-48 hours) and large errors (manual counting deviation of up to 30%). In this regard, the team pioneered the dual-core monitoring system of "ATP luciferase technology + liquid percussion collection":

l Accurate perception: Through the principle of ATP biological enzyme luminescence, the ATP content of microorganisms is converted into light signals, and the colony concentration can be quickly detected within 10 minutes, and the error is controlled within ±5%;

l Intelligent sanitize: Built-in AI algorithm analyzes data in real time, automatically matches national health standards, accurately calculates the dosage of disinfectant (accuracy ±10%), and triggers atomization and disinfection linkage;

l Full traceability: Equipped with a visual data platform, it can generate pollution heat maps and sanitize record reports to help management departments make scientific decisions.

Scenario application: Build a full-chain prevention and control system

At present, the "Weiweian" robot has been piloted in schools, restaurants and other scenarios, showing significant technical advantages and application scenarios:

l Dynamic monitoring: the equipment updates the air microbial concentration data every 10 minutes, and the early warning response speed is increased by 50 times;

l Precise purification: for common pathogens such as Staphylococcus albicans, Candida albicans and H1N1 influenza virus, the sanitizing efficiency reaches 99%;

l Multi-machine collaboration: It can support up to 100 devices to network and operate, covering 100,000 square meters of space.

At the same time, the team also simultaneously developed supporting equipment products such as "airborne microbial high-efficiency multi-nozzle sampling bottle", "portable air microbial rapid detector" and "individual wearable bioaerosol sampler", forming a full-chain technical system of "monitoring-early warning-sanitizing-evaluation" to meet the application needs of complex scenarios such as airports, schools, stations, customs, hotels and nursing homes.

Innovation value: building a "scientific and technological shield" for air purification

Associate Professor Yu Guanliu, the team instructor, said that traditional disinfection is like "a blind man touching an elephant", and it is difficult to achieve accurate sanitization. The application of "Weiwei'an" technology has given "golden eyes" to the health management of public places, realizing the whole process control from real-time monitoring to intelligent early warning to precise sanitization. At present, the team is iteratively upgrading the product technology according to market demand, such as optimizing the multispectral sensor fusion algorithm to realize the synchronous discrimination of bacterial and viral loads, and building a microbial pollution database covering 12 types of high-risk pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Candida albicans, Acinetobacter baumannii, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, influenza, adenovirus, new coronavirus, norovirus, hepatitis B virus, poxvirus and mycoplasma, etc., to provide more solid technical support for future emergency response.

From the laboratory to the application field, this innovation and entrepreneurship team led by young researchers such as Li Xiaokun, Wang Xilong, Song Zhicheng and Zhan Ruiqi has interpreted the youthful responsibility of scientific research in the new era with technological innovation. Under the guidance of the "Healthy China" strategy, their exploration provides a fresh sample for intelligent public health management, and also makes the vision of science and technology to protect life and health a reality.
