The "2024 World Robotics Report" released by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) on the 24th shows that Germany installed 28355 new industrial robots in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 7%, breaking the record set in 2018.

According to German media reports, Germany remains the largest industrial robot market in Europe. Germany has currently installed 269427 robots, with an annual growth rate of approximately 5% since 2018. Currently, approximately one out of every three robots in Europe is installed by German companies.

The report shows that China remains the largest market for industrial robots, with approximately 276000 new installations last year, a decrease of 5% from 2022, but overall accounting for 51% of the world's new installations.

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) predicts that global robot installations will rise again in the coming years due to a recent decrease in orders. Especially the increasingly severe labor shortage problem has further driven the demand for automation solutions. Small and medium-sized enterprises in particular face the challenge of finding simple and cost-effective automation solutions to maintain competitiveness.

Oliver Seiler, head of the Machinery Manufacturing Department at the German Federal Agency for Foreign Trade and Investment, said that even in challenging economic times, Germany can still consolidate its position as a leader in the European robotics and automation industry and a top five player in the world. German and international companies have interesting growth prospects in the fields of industrial robots and various service robot applications.
