IT Home reported on November 18 that, according to NHK, the American technology giant Microsoft opened its first R&D center in Japan in Tokyo, focusing on the combination of robotics and artificial intelligence, and the opening ceremony was held on November 18.

The R&D center, called Microsoft Research Asia in Tokyo, is the latest in a series of technology labs that Microsoft has opened around the world.
The lab plans to focus on the application of so-called embodied AI in manufacturing, healthcare, and other industries, and will also collaborate with major Japanese companies and universities, according to IT House.
Microsoft says the company is impressed with Japan's expertise in robotics.
Peter Lee, President of Microsoft Research, said: "Japan's expertise in robotics is one of the most important reasons why we have established our research lab here. Therefore, we are both hopeful and optimistic about the establishment of a research laboratory in Japan, a country at the forefront of robotics, which we believe will help us better advance the research of embodied AI. "
Microsoft is one of several U.S. tech giants that have invested in R&D bases and data centers in Japan, along with Oracle and Amazon Web Services.
