On the evening of November 13, Lingbao, a humanoid robot brand developed by Beijing enterprises, released the first full-size bipedal humanoid robot "CASBOT 01". The humanoid robot, named "Wednesday", is similar in size to an adult male, is 179 centimeters tall, weighs 60 kilograms, and is capable of achieving a battery life of 4 hours. In the demonstration video, it can not only stand on two feet and walk steadily, but also be able to organize clothes, make screws, and even assemble a lamp and prepare a simple dinner.
It is understood that Lingbao, a humanoid robot brand to which "Wednesday" belongs, has team members from top universities such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology, etc., and has more than 20 years of research experience in professional fields such as intelligent robots, precision assembly, visual servo, and robot skill learning.
Joints have long been the basis for a robot's ability to move and be flexible. It is understood that the Lingbao team has independently developed key components of integrated joints including planetary joints, harmonic joints, linear joints, etc., and through vibration suppression, inertia identification, friction compensation and "gain self-tuning" and other technologies, to ensure that the general high-precision flexibility of anthropomorphic joints has been running stably for a long time.
Because of its complex structural components and ultra-high technical difficulty, humanoid robots are regarded as the "crown jewels" of the robot industry. At the meeting, Lingbao announced that it would open its basic humanoid robot skill library to all industry partners, including a series of atomic actions such as walking, running, grabbing, and tool operation, which are the cornerstone of building humanoid robots and embodied intelligence applications. "By opening up the basic skill library, we hope to work with partners from all walks of life to build a more refined humanoid robot professional skill library for industry-level application needs." 2024 is regarded as the "first year of humanoid robot commercialization", and a recent report released by the Chinese Humanoid Robot Industry Conference shows that the market size of Chinese humanoid robots will reach 2.76 billion yuan in 2024 and is expected to grow into a 100 billion yuan market in 2030. Zhang Miao revealed that the team has accumulated many partners in many fields such as aerospace and navigation, emergency rescue, underground operations, industrial manufacturing and commercial services, and has reached strategic cooperation with Lenovo.
