ABB Motors and Generators China holds a media open day to share the latest developments in energy-saving and efficiency enhancing products, as well as zero carbon factories.
ABB upgrades four motor and generator products, continuously helping customers in various industries achieve lean and cleaner operations, and setting an excellent example.
BB Motor and Generator celebrate their 20th and 30th anniversary in China, further consolidating their long-term commitment to the Chinese market.
On April 8th, ABB Electric and Generator held a factory media open day event in Shanghai titled "Double Celebration, Setting Our Original Aspiration, Zero Carbon Manufacturing Never Dies". On the occasion of the 20th and 30th anniversary of the establishment of ABB Motor and Generator in China (ABB High Voltage Motor Co., Ltd. and Shanghai ABB Motor Co., Ltd.), ABB has specially invited representatives from the public and industry media to visit the motor and generator factory and share the latest product trends around the motor market.
In China, the electricity consumed by motors accounts for about 60% of the total electricity consumption, which has great potential for energy conservation. As an important supporter of China's energy transformation, ABB is committed to helping customers save energy and increase efficiency through its innovative solutions.

Multiple new ABB motors and generators inject surging power into industrial green transformation
This year, ABB has enhanced its local R&D and production capabilities by launching the AMZ 1400 permanent magnet shaft generator, M2BAF IE5, M2QA-FB IE5, and M2JAX IE5 ultra efficient motors, setting new industry benchmarks in efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
Focusing on the core needs of green transformation in China's shipbuilding industry, ABB upgraded its locally developed, produced, and serviced permanent magnet shaft generators this year, leading the shipbuilding industry towards a more reliable, efficient, and sustainable future. During the event, Yang Wenguang, the head of ABB's large motors and generators business unit in the Asia Pacific region, stated: "Since 2005, ABB's large motors and generators have built a full value chain system covering research and development, production, and services through deepening local strategies. They have launched various innovative products such as high-voltage motors and permanent magnet shaft generators that are suitable for the Chinese market, and have achieved large-scale applications in industrial energy efficiency, ship power, and other fields. ABB is proud to be a partner in China's green innovation transformation and high-quality development path, and insists on using cutting-edge technology to contribute greater strength
Since entering the Chinese market in 1995, ABB IEC low-voltage motors have always adhered to technological innovation and built a full chain system covering research and development, production, and service, providing important driving force for China's industrial efficiency and sustainable development Luo Hui, the head of ABB China's IEC low-voltage motor local business unit, mentioned that in 2021, ABB launched the 'Jiaolong' project to meet the diverse needs of the Chinese segmented market. He led a local R&D team in China to independently develop two low-voltage motors, M2QA and M2BAF, which received widespread recognition from the market. This year, ABB responded to China's urgent demand for high-efficiency motors and launched the M2QA-FB IE5, M2BAF, and M2JAX motors, which have been upgraded to the first level of ultra-high efficiency (IE5), targeting the food, water treatment, HVAC, and petrochemical industries. With technological innovation, they help customers operate their businesses smoothly and stand out in the market with more efficient, productive, and sustainable competitive advantages

Zero carbon benchmark factory leads green future
While helping customers achieve green energy transformation and sustainable development, ABB aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2030 by adopting renewable energy generation and replacing old motors with ABB's efficient motors to achieve sustainable development. Thanks to this, both ABB motor and generator factories have been selected as "zero carbon benchmark factories" by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, becoming demonstration cases for regional industrial green transformation and marking ABB's provision of replicable low-carbon transformation paths for other industries based on its own template.
In the future, ABB motors and generators will continue to help customers achieve lean and cleaner operations, set an excellent example, promote innovation in efficient motor technology and zero carbon factory operation methods, and inject core power into China's industrial green energy transformation.
