When turning copper screws, it is first necessary to understand that the copper content of pure copper is usually 99.5%, and the hardness of pure copper in the annealed state is generally 35-45HB. In order to ensure the machining quality of copper screws, the following matters should be paid attention to when turning copper screws:
.During machining, chips may adhere to the cutting edge, which can affect the quality of copper screw machining and shorten the life of the tool.
.The surface of copper screws is prone to wavy water ripples and will be accompanied by noise.
.Pure copper has a large coefficient of expansion. When cutting, it is easy to deform due to high temperatures, so it is difficult to control the size and accuracy of copper screws.
.If the copper parts contain easy-to-cut elements such as sulfur, it may affect the machinability of the copper parts. Due to the large toughness and plasticity of copper parts, the deformation produced during cutting is also more significant. Therefore, the cutter should be kept sharp to ensure a smooth cut and a low temperature generated during cutting, thus reducing the deformation of the copper piece.
.If lead is added to the copper parts, the machinability of the copper parts will be greatly improved, and the cutting speed will be increased accordingly. There are many types of bronze, and the anisotropy performance is poor, but the machinability of lead-containing bronze is significantly improved.
.In the processing of copper parts, the faster the cutting speed, the smaller the cutting force, which can reduce the deformation of copper parts during processing. The surface quality of copper alloys is very good, so there is usually no need for further finishing. The faster the cutting speed, the better the surface quality of the copper screw.
